Cars 2 Movie Download: Join the International Espionage with Mater and McQueen
British spy Finn McMissile infiltrates an oil rig owned by a group of criminal lemon cars to rescue fellow spy Leland Turbo, who has blown his own cover. He witnesses the lemons, seemingly led by German weapons designer and scientist Professor Zündapp, load an electromagnetic pulse generator, disguised as a TV camera onto a shipping crate. After discovering Turbo's death, a burst of flames reveals his presence to the lemons, and he escapes by faking his death.

At a World Grand Prix promotional party event, Mater makes a scene after eating a bowl of wasabi and seemingly leaking on stage, embarrassing Lightning in front of everyone. While cleaning up, Mater interrupts a fight between American spy Rod "Torque" Redline and crimimal lemon cars Grem and Acer. Redline plants his tracking device on Mater, causing the spy Finn McMissile and his associate Holley Shiftwell to mistake him for the spy. Meanwhile, Redline is captured and killed by criminal lemon professor Zündapp, who reveals that Allinol is set on fire when hit with an EMP. He informs his superior, an unknown mastermind, that Redline passed on his information. Holley finds and recruits Mater to stop Zündapp's plot.
The soundtrack for the film was released on both CD and digital download on June 14, 2011. Cars 2 is the fourth Pixar film to be scored by Michael Giacchino, after The Incredibles, Ratatouille and Up.[28] It was also the first and only Pixar film directed by John Lasseter not to be scored by Randy Newman, who scored the first and third films of the Cars franchise.
The film was released by Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment on DVD, Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, and digital download on November 1, 2011. This release was produced in four different physical packages: a 1-disc DVD, a 2-disc combo pack (DVD and Blu-ray), a 5-disc combo pack (DVD, Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, and Digital Copy), and an 11-disc three movie collector's set, which features Cars, Cars 2, and Cars Toons: Mater's Tall Tales. The film was also released as a Movie Download edition in both standard and high definition.[36]
The Movie Download release includes four bonus features: Cars Toons "Air Mater", the Toy Story Toon "Hawaiian Vacation", "World Tour Interactive Feature", and "Bringing Cars 2 to the World". The 1-disc DVD and 2-disc Blu-ray/DVD combo pack releases include the shorts "Air Mater" and "Hawaiian Vacation", plus the Director John Lasseter Commentary. The 5-disc combo pack includes all of the same bonus features as the 1-disc DVD and 2-disc Blu-ray/DVD combo pack versions, in addition to "World Tour Interactive Feature" and "Sneak Peek: The Nuts and Bolts of Cars Land." The 11-disc three movie collection comes packaged with Cars (DVD, Blu-ray, and Digital Copy), Cars 2 (DVD, Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, and Digital Copy), and Mater's Tall Tales (DVD, Blu-ray, and Digital Copy).[36]
I knew I would like this film, but I was very pleasantly surprised at how amazing I found it. As a hold-out and a bit of a cranky git, I confess I am one of those who find the 3D experience an annoyance. Maybe if they someday come up with a contraption-free (no glasses) way to see it, I might like it. My cinema only had it in 3D. Drat.However, the 3D annoying gimmick aside- I was thrilled by the lush beauty of this movie. I was also gratified by the depth and meaningful quality of the story. Recounting the plot here would not accomplish anything, so I'll skip it. Let us say that if the outcomes of all the plot points were probably predictable, that's OK--- As a "comedy" that is the formula- and it was well served.I was entranced throughout.Emily Mortimer's solid feminine sweetness and likability came through- and Michael Cain was a hoot. And the skillful comedic actor Eddie Izzard's characterisation was also true to his particular form. The cast from the first Cars film all seemed to be here as well- to good effect.I will note that this did not seem like a film made for small children at all. My auditorium was filled with the little guys- a cute and amiable crew, to be sure. But I cannot imagine that they would find the characters and the intricate story intelligible. And the jaw-droppingly beautiful scenery and artwork would also likely be lost on them.I loved this movie!
I truly hated watching "Cars 2" as it is not only a sequel no one other than John Lassiter wanted but it also has a plot that manages to squeeze all the joy out of the franchise. Additionally, it does something with Mater that I didn't think was possible...it made me hate him about as much as Jar-Jar Binks! Yes, this movie is that bad.Before I talk about the bad, I should at least point out that the CGI is incredibly well done and beautiful. Even seen a decade after it was made, the look of the movie just blew me away.That being said, the plot is a garbage fire. Instead of making it about race cars, racing and Lightning McQueen are only a small part of the film. Instead, it's mostly a film about Mater and spy cars. Yes, I said spy cars...godawful and totally out of place spy cars. While I am sure some of the Pixar folks thought this was clever and cute, believe me, it's not. It really seems as if the script and stupidity of the plot never was a concern to anyone at the studio...and you wonder how it got made in the first place as common sense says to only use Mater in moderation and DON'T MAKE A MOVIE ABOUT SPY CARS. I did give the film a chance but found myself wanting to turn it off repeatedly because all the cleverness and joy of the first film was gone...replaced instead with spy cars. Did I mention there were spy cars?!? Ugghh!!!!!

Cars 2 is a movie in which you are entertained by a team of animated cars: Lightning McQueen, Tow Mater, Mack, Hudson Hornet, Guido, Ramone, Flo, and Carla Turbinha. The directors begin the story of the film by introducing the new characters. Everything starts with the British agent Leland Turbo, who finds himself on an oil rig in the middle of the Pacific. Captured by lemon cars, locked up and waiting for his death, he broadcasts a holographic message to Sean McMission. He calls him to come for help. A moment later, the death sentence is executed.
But he is detected and then Sean begins shooting and escapes. The lemon cars chase after him, but Finn jumps into the water and turns himself into a boat. A rocket is sent in order to kill him. Feigning his own death, Sean releases the tires to the surface, and flees, turning himself into a submarine.
Meanwhile, in Radiator Springs near U.S. Route 66, everyone lives peacefully, and Lightning wins the fourth Piston Cup at the races in California. One day he receives a proposal to take part in the International Grand Prix, which is to take place in several European countries and in Japan. On his journey, Lightning takes his faithful friend, Tow Mater. The latter is recognized as secret US agent. The first Cars movie was a lot of fun; the second one promises to be a good time as well. Lightning McQueen and Mater are back along with Finn McMissile and a cast of international cars. The spy caper motif is fun, giving the franchise plenty of opportunity to extend the Mater as the likable rube story from the first installment.
All of the songs in Cars 2 are available on the Cars 2 soundtrack album. You can download them all individually from Amazon, except for Polyrythm by Perfume, which can only be snagged along with the rest of the album. Two of the five songs are in the end credits of Cars 2, while the rest are used to set the scene in Tokyo and Paris. There are a couple classical songs that are uncredited in the movie, such as the song for the Queen when Mater is knighted.
The 2006 comedy-adventure Cars may have looked like little more than a bunch of animated cars racing around a track. But it turned out to be so much more. The ultimate high-octane car-toon, it featured cleverly anthropomorphic automobile characters and awe-inspiring landscapes.
Director John Lasseter (Cars, Toy Story, Toy Story 2, A Bug's Life) and debuting co-director Brad Lewis keep things moving at a lightning-quick pace, their level of inventiveness admirably and absolutely unflagging. But the sequel seems to depend much more on the audience's interest in cars and racing, at times seeming more like Nascars 2.
But a bigger problem is that the emotional quotient never quite kicks in the way it did in the original -- which is a big part of the reason why the climax falls rather flat. The energy level never dips, to be sure -- full throttle is the only speed this movie knows -- but velocity is no substitute for emotional involvement.
